We arrived in Florida in the afternoon.
I immediately rushed out onto the balcony to see the ocean. It was the first time I had seen an ocean, although I did cross one on my way from England in early October. You really can't see anything when you are wrapped in a box in the bottom of an airplane hold, though.
That first day, Tirion and I mostly stayed in the hotel and looked out the window. I was hoping for an adventure. Tirion was content to watch the people and the ocean from the hotel window.
I didn't have to wait long for adventure. Soon enough, I was wrapped in a waterproof bag and smuggled aboard a canoe in my person's tote bag. As soon as we were safely out in the water, I got to join in the fun.
The scenery was beautiful!
I tried to help row the boat, but the oars were really too heavy for me.
I sat and watched the scenery,
but then decided standing up was more fun.
I could see the blue springs along the bank.
The boat rocked a bit and I decided maybe standing up was not such a good idea!
The water was so clear and warm.
We docked in a shallow place and I could see little fish! You can see them if you look very, very closely.
I tried to catch one, but they were too fast!
I went wading and tried to catch one again, but they were still too fast!
I couldn't wait to share my adventure with Tirion when we returned to the hotel.
The next day, we went out on a boat in the ocean. I even saw jellyfish!
I wouldn't want to be in the water with one of them!
We went to Shell Island. It was so very pretty, and there really were a lot of shells all over the beach.
Finally, it was our last day in Florida. I watched the sun set,
and the next morning, I went down to the ocean very early to say one last farewell before we left for home.
It was my very first adventure in America and I hope to have many more!
